Urban Decay Vintage Eyeshadows vs. New Packaging

In my recent Urban Decay Vintage Eyeshadow Haul, I showed you 5 of the Vintage eyeshadows that I purchased for $9 each (normally $17).  I also used a $10 off coupon to purchase one of the new, reformulated eyeshadows, so I could compare the packaging.  The new eyeshadows retail for $18 each.

Here is my comparison of the new packaging compared to the Vintage eyeshadow packaging.

The box for the new eyeshadow (on the left) is a little longer than the Vintage eyeshadow.  There is additional cardboard at the bottom to hold the eyeshadow in place.  The old eyeshadow comes in a plastic-like box, while the new eyeshadow is in a cardboard box with a cutout in the front.
One thing I REALLY like about the new eyeshadows is that there is a sticker to seal them closed.  Then you can tell if someone has opened it before you buy it.
Obviously, they have done a lot to redesign the packaging on the new eyeshadows.

I never owned an Urban Decay eyeshadow single until I purchased these.  I was under the impression that they were cute little metal containers.  Wrong!  They are definitely plastic.

The new packaging looks like dark, shiny metal, while the old packaging looks aluminum.  The clear plastic that allows you to see the shadow is larger on the new shadow, and it's smooth compared to the textured Vintage eyeshadow packaging.

Although you can't really see it in this picture, the new eyeshadow says "Beauty with an Edge" while the Vintage eyeshadow says "Good for One Fare."  I guess it's supposed to look like a token.
Both shadows have the same amount of product (1.5g).
The biggest change is that the new eyeshadows can pop out to be put in an Urban Decay "Build Your Own Palette."  The Vintage eyeshadows were not designed to pop out the packaging.  There are plenty of videos on YouTube that show how to depot the Vintage Eyeshadows, but it's much easier when you can pop it out.  To pop the new eyeshadow out, you simply press on the label on the bottom.
Since I haven't swatched Busted for you, here it is next to Toasted.
Urban Decay Busted, Urban Decay Toasted

As I mentioned in this post, the price on the Vintage Eyeshadows has dropped to $6 each!  They still have a nice selection available if there are any that you want to try.

  1. Eyeshadow Packaging can be tailor made according to your dimension and with a die cut window that allow the customers to see the product in the eyeshadow boxes.

  3. The first and most important purpose of packaging is to make your products safe and secure for long time. Secondly It can be promotional purpose about company or brands. In this way anyone can know about the manufacturer on specific product.
