Urban Decay Vintage Eyeshadow Haul!

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Urban Decay was back on HauteLook and that Urban Decay had a huge sale on their website.  I talked about the benefits of ordering through HauteLook compared to the Urban Decay website.  I have been wanting a few of their eyeshadows, so I decided to order the shades I wanted (plus a few extras) through the Urban Decay website.

The Urban Decay vintage eyeshadows were on sale for $9 each.  The original price was $17 each!  The sale on Urban Decay's website is still going on now, and they still have a really good selection of vintage eyeshadows.

I love Urban Decay eyeshadows.  I absolutely LOVE my Urban Decay Naked palette.  It was the first high end eyeshadow that I ever purchased.  Sidecar was one of my favorites (minus the glitter), and I read online that there were a few shadows that were sold individually that are very similar to Sidecar.  I have wanted to buy some eyeshadow singles, but I couldn't justify spending $17 for one eyeshadow.  When I saw this sale, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to pick up a few eyeshadows that I have been wanting.

Sell Out, Midnight Cowboy, YDK, Baked & Toasted

Baked is probably my least favorite eyeshadow that I bought.  The eyeshadow is great quality, highly pigmented, etc., but I am not a huge fan of gold eyeshadows.  There is a lot more gold and orange in it than I expected (my own fault, not theirs).  I guess I was hoping it had more brown it than orange.  Hopefully I will get bold enough to play with this eyeshadow more, because it really is beautiful.

I swatched Baked next to Half Baked from the original Naked palette, so you can see how much more orange Baked is compared to the golden Half Baked.

Sell Out is supposed to be the glitter-less version of Midnight Cowboy.  I was hoping that Midnight Cowboy would be similar to Sidecar from my original Naked palette.

Sidecar and Midnight Cowboy both have a lot of glitter.  They are actually kind of messy, and I think I prefer my L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush to these glittery eyeshadows.

Sell Out makes a beautiful brow bone highlight.

To compare, I swatched Sin from the original Naked palette next to Sell Out.

YDK is in the Naked 2 palette, and I have had my eye on it for a while.  I already have Toasted in my Naked palette, but I love it and I wanted the single.

I also ordered another eyeshadow and a cream highlight.  Several days after I placed my order, I received an e-mail from Urban Decay that those items were no longer available.  They gave me a coupon code for $10 off a purchase from Urban Decay's website.  I have ordered a new Urban Decay eyeshadow, so I can compare the packaging of the new and vintage eyeshadows.
