Target July 2012 Summer Make-Up Clearance - L'Oreal True Match Powder and Blush

On one of my recent stops to Target, I was browsing through the beauty aisle and looking for a great deal on some clearance beauty products. For some reason, I rarely find anything worth buying when Target has beauty products on sale. The colors are never something I would buy or I have already read enough bad reviews about the product that I know better than to waste any money on the product, even if it is 70% off.

I came across the L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Powder that had a free blush packaged with it. They were only 30% off, but I wanted to get a powder to set my new BB cream and the reviews look promising for the L'Oreal powder.   The powder I picked is in the shade Soft Ivory n1.  That's the first thing I like about these powders.  You can choose your undertone.  My foundation has neutral undertones, so I went with the neutral for this powder.  I'm going to test the powder this weekend.  So far, I have used it in the evening to get rid of the shine on my face, but I haven't tested it for more than an hour or two.

The L'Oreal Tue Match Super-Blendable Blush that is paired with each powder is aimed at the same skintone. The blush I got with my "fairest of them all" powder was in Precious Peach n1-2.

Here is the powder compact outside of the packaging.  Just a basic, plastic compact.

You will notice that these are two compartments.  The top lifts up and the bottom lifts down to store the applicator.  This design is the same on the powder and blush.

The line in the plastic is not a crack.  It's just the way it looks!
You can open the top to access the product.  The powder comes with a sponge applicator.

There is a mirror below the sponge.

As I mentioned, the matching blush in the set is in the shade Precious Peach n1-2.

The packing in the same as the powder.  You open the top to access the blush.

The bottom opens to reveal a brush.  The blush compact does not have a mirror like the powder compact.

Does anyone EVER use the brush that comes with a product?  I'm sure I did in high school, but in college, I started to buy a few make-up brushes, so I never used these worthless brushes again.  In fact, I typically throw them in a drawer and don't keep them with the product, although now I'm wondering why I don't throw them away...

On to the moment you have been waiting for... the swatch.

Yeah, I can't see much either.  The color is a soft, light peach, and it's definitely got some shimmer!  The powder is very smooth, and it doesn't have any fall-out when I swatch it like some products do.  Probably not my favorite blush that I own, but I'm sure it will provide a natural flush on days when I don't want to look like I have much on my face.  Plus, I view the blush as a bonus, as I was really buying the powder.

How can you make this a better deal? Target's website has a printable coupon for $1 off a L'Oreal cosmetics item.

Definitely worth checking to see if your Target still had these combo packs on clearance! They were on the top shelf above the rest of the L'Oreal products!
