Here are some good deals to look for at Walgreens this week.
For the week of 7/15-7/21, Walgreen's has eos lip balm on sale for 2/$6. When you purchase 2, you receive a Register Reward good for $4 off your next purchase. The Register Reward can be used to buy almost ANYTHING in the store. It expires after two weeks. Therefore, the net cost for the eos lip balm was 2/$2. I already have the eos lip balm in Summer Fruit. I got it at Walgreens when it first came out and they had a "Try it free after Register Reward" promotion.
The eos lip balms have shea butter and jojoba oil and are 100% natural and 95% organic. They are not tested on animals - another bonus! I like these because they are a smooth, light balm during the day, but I don't use them at night when I am looking for something a little heavier. I also like to use them before I put on a lip stick or lip gloss.
If you pick these up, be sure to look at the packaging. Some of them had coupons for $2 off an eos lotion. I looked at the lotions and the travel size was $3.99. I think I will wait for a sale to use the $2 off coupons, because they don't expire until 12/31/12.
I haven't heard any hype or reviews on the LypSyl Moisturizing Swedish Beeswax lip balm, but I stocked up on these when they had a promotion at Walgreens years ago. I can't remember the details, but it was a great deal.
When I was looking at the eos lip balm, I notice the magical "Try Me Free" peelie, so I had to pick up another. This "LypMoisturizer" is regularly $2.99 at Walgreens. It has a light minty flavor, coconut oil to moisturize, organic shea butter to heal and protect, and vitamins A & E to soften and heal. This has become one of my favorite lip balms. It feels light, but it has a thick, moisturizing feel. I put it on before bed when I want to really soften and repair my lips from my drying lip sticks.
The packaging isn't as unique as the eos lip balms, but it has some very cute features. The cap has a little bee on it.
To move the product up and down, you use this little bee along the side.
The lip balm itself has a slight mint scent, and I find it to be very refreshing. There is no color to the balm, and it gives your lips a moisturized shine.
Lastly, this is an item I bought on a whim, because it reminded me of the SoftLips lip balms that I used way back in the day. Maybe it was nostalgia, maybe I just love to shop clearance items, but I bought the Aquafina Hydrating lip balms. The packaging says they are new, but I found them for $1.99 (50% off) at Walgreens.
One package includes three Aquafina FlavorSplash lip balms, plus a Bonus lip balm in Mint. The three FlavorSplash lip balms are in Raspberry, Citrus Blend and Wild Berry. These lip balms remind me a lot of SoftLips, although don't quote me on that because I haven't actually used SoftLips in a long, long time. All of the "Flavors" have a slight minty tingle immediately after application, but it fades relatively quickly. Obviously, this isn't a full review, since I just picked these up. If you are interested, I will let you know what I think once I've used these for a few weeks.
What great deals did you find at Walgreens this week?
Thanks for the tip! What balm do you use at night? I'm looking for something not too waxy myself.
ReplyDeleteI have been using the eos during the day and the LypSyl at night. I don't find the LypSyl to be too heavy or waxy, but it is still moisturizing.
DeleteI'm loving my new eos lip balm in sweet mint though! Might become my new night lip balm very soon! What do you use currently?
Thanks so much for reading and commenting!! :)
Yikes! How did I miss that when it was clearly stated in your blog? Sorry to make you repeat yourself! I'll give the eos a try. The lypsyl sounds intriguing too! Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteNo problem at all! Let me know how you like it! :)
