Maybelline Limited Edition Color Tattoo 24 hr Eyeshadow in Barely Beige

In my original post on the Maybelline Limited Edition Color Tattoo 24 hr Eyeshadows, I swatches three of the four new Color Tattoo Eyeshadows.  I finally found the shade Barely Beige at Walgreens!  This is part of the Limited Edition Fashion Week line.  Some of the Walgreens stores around me had a smaller version of the Fashion Week display that didn't include the Color Tattoos.  I went to 4 different Walgreens in the last 2 days before I finally found Barely Beige!
Here is a comparison of Too Cool from the permanent collection and Barely Beige.

Barely Beige is a creamier formula than Too Cool (maybe because it's newer?).
Too Cool, Barely Beige
I now understand why it has been the first shade to sell out everywhere I look.  So far, I am loving Barely Beige.  It's a gorgeous champagne color.  Too Cool is too white for me to use daily.  I am considering picking up a back-up of Barely Beige (if I can find one), but I'm not sure how these creamy eyeshadows will hold up.

I wish they would make Barely Beige part of the permanent collection, because it is so beautiful!

If you can find the Maybelline Limited Edition Color Tattoo in Barely Beige, buy it!  I have been looking for mine for weeks, and I'm so glad I finally found it!

Urban Decay Vintage Eyeshadow Haul!

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Urban Decay was back on HauteLook and that Urban Decay had a huge sale on their website.  I talked about the benefits of ordering through HauteLook compared to the Urban Decay website.  I have been wanting a few of their eyeshadows, so I decided to order the shades I wanted (plus a few extras) through the Urban Decay website.

The Urban Decay vintage eyeshadows were on sale for $9 each.  The original price was $17 each!  The sale on Urban Decay's website is still going on now, and they still have a really good selection of vintage eyeshadows.

I love Urban Decay eyeshadows.  I absolutely LOVE my Urban Decay Naked palette.  It was the first high end eyeshadow that I ever purchased.  Sidecar was one of my favorites (minus the glitter), and I read online that there were a few shadows that were sold individually that are very similar to Sidecar.  I have wanted to buy some eyeshadow singles, but I couldn't justify spending $17 for one eyeshadow.  When I saw this sale, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to pick up a few eyeshadows that I have been wanting.

Sell Out, Midnight Cowboy, YDK, Baked & Toasted

Baked is probably my least favorite eyeshadow that I bought.  The eyeshadow is great quality, highly pigmented, etc., but I am not a huge fan of gold eyeshadows.  There is a lot more gold and orange in it than I expected (my own fault, not theirs).  I guess I was hoping it had more brown it than orange.  Hopefully I will get bold enough to play with this eyeshadow more, because it really is beautiful.

I swatched Baked next to Half Baked from the original Naked palette, so you can see how much more orange Baked is compared to the golden Half Baked.

Sell Out is supposed to be the glitter-less version of Midnight Cowboy.  I was hoping that Midnight Cowboy would be similar to Sidecar from my original Naked palette.

Midnight Cowboy, Sell Out
Sidecar and Midnight Cowboy both have a lot of glitter.  They are actually kind of messy, and I think I prefer my L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush to these glittery eyeshadows.

Sell Out makes a beautiful brow bone highlight.

To compare, I swatched Sin from the original Naked palette next to Sell Out.

YDK is in the Naked 2 palette, and I have had my eye on it for a while.  I already have Toasted in my Naked palette, but I love it and I wanted the single.

I also ordered another eyeshadow and a cream highlight.  Several days after I placed my order, I received an e-mail from Urban Decay that those items were no longer available.  They gave me a coupon code for $10 off a purchase from Urban Decay's website.  I have ordered a new Urban Decay eyeshadow, so I can compare the packaging of the new and vintage eyeshadows.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Charm & Precious Comparison Swatches

In my original review of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, I compared Charm, Adore and Honey.  Last week when CVS had Revlon lip products for $2.49 after ExtraBucks, I decided to finally pick up Precious.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm (top) and Precious
I have really been liking Precious.  I don't like to wear lip gloss, so I feel that Precious gives me a similar effect without the sticky gloss.  It looks very natural with a very slight shine, and it feels smooth right after it's applied.  Just like the other Balm Stains, the smooth glossy-feel disappears to leave a stain, but I don't notice the stain on my lips.  Maybe it's too close to the actual color of my lips?
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Precious
Precious is nude while Charm has more orange.  On the lips, the orange very subtle, but I still prefer Precious.

Last Day for a Great Revlon Lip Deal at CVS

Today is the last day to get the Revlon lip product deal at CVS!  If you purchase a Revlon Colorburst, Moondrops, Just Bitten, or Super Lustrous lip product for $6.49, you will receive $4 in ExtraBucks to use toward you next purchase.  The limit is 4, so you can buy 4 lip products for $25.96 and get $16 in ExtraBucks back.  That is like paying $2.49 each!

I picked up two items.  I paid $12.98, plus tax and received $8 ExtraBucks.  I think I will use the $8 to buy two more lip products today.  Then I will pay $4.98 and get $8 back!

The two items I purchased were a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Precious and a Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Champagne on Ice.

I know in my original review of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, I said that they stained my lips a bright pink color.  I haven't experienced that with Precious.

I am planning to do some comparison swatches with the other Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks in my collection.  I also am planning to do comparison swatches of the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in Precious and Charm, so check back soon for these posts.

Wet n Wild Bonus Packaging at Walgreens

When I stopped by Walgreens on my hunt for the New Maybelline Limited Edition Color Tattoo Eyeshadows, I noticed a new Wet n Wild display.  All of the products were $1.99, but they were each packaged with a bonus, free item.

The ColorIcon eyeshadow singles included a bonus eye pencil.  The MegaProtein mascara also included a bonus eye pencil.  The MegaLast lipcolor included a bonus lip pencil.
I didn't get a picture of the colors, although you can see at the top of the next picture that the lip gloss included a bonus clear lip gloss.

The MegaLast Salon Nail Color included a bonus top coat.
Once again, no picture, but they also had two shades of Fast Dry Nail Color packaged together.

Wet n Wild Eye Set at Big Lots!

Here is another product that I saw at Big Lots!

This is a set of Wet n Wild eye products for $5.50.  It includes 2 i-Sparkle Eyeshadows in Star Clusters and 2 H20 Proof Blending Eye Pencils.  It looks like these eyeshadows were Limited Edition products in 2008.

Maybelline Limited Edition Color Tattoo 24 hr Eyeshadows

Let me start by saying how much I LOVE the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hr Eyeshadows that I have in my collection.  I bought six colors when they first came out, and I use them daily as a base to intensify my eyeshadow.  Occasionally, I wear them alone as eyeshadow.

I have been dying to get my hands on the new Maybelline Limited Edition Color Tattoo 24 hr Eyeshadows since the moment I heard about them.  All four of the new Limited Edition colors were appealing to me, so I couldn't wait to find them in the stores.
I was thrilled to finally find three of the four colors at CVS today!  They did not have Barely Beige, but I will add swatches once I am able to find it.  (UPDATE: Click Here for swatches of Barely Beige)

In the meantime, here are the three colors that I purchased today.  I was able to find Mossy Green, Rich Mahogany, and Gold Shimmer.

Individually, these eyeshadows are $6.99 each at CVS.  Currently, CVS has a buy one, get one 50% off sale on Maybelline eyeshadows, including the Color Tattoos.  I also used a 20% beauty products coupon from the CVS Beauty Facebook page that worked in addition to the buy one, get one 50% off sale!
I really like the packaging for these eyeshadows/bases.  They are solid, glass containers with a black plastic lid that screws on.
Mossy Green, Rich Mahogany, Gold Shimmer
I think these colors are gorgeous, and I can't wait to wear them.  Mossy Green will be a beautiful fall color.  I haven't played around a lot with green eyeshadow, but I can't wait to use Mossy Green with an eyeliner that I have with a hint of green in it!  The other two colors go perfectly with my daily eye routine.

I'm really excited about Gold Shimmer, because Bold Gold (from the permanent Color Tattoo line) is way too gold for me.  Gold Shimmer has a bit more bronze to it, which makes it more wearable for me.

I have read reviews that say the darker colors are more difficult to work with.  They say that they are streaky, and it's difficult to get an even application.  I have found that I can get a more even application with the warmth of my fingers than with a brush.

The other key to a flawless application is to slowly build up the color.  If you apply too much to your eyelid at first, they are much more difficult to blend out.  They seem to dry fairly quickly, and once they dry, they aren't going to budge.  I had to use my eye make-up remover to get the swatches off of my arm.  At night, I remove my make-up with Coconut Oil, and they come off very easily with the Coconut Oil.  I tend to tap the product on my eyelid, and then quickly blend it out.
Gold Shimmer, Rich Mahogany, Mossy Green
Of course I have to include a comparison to a few of the other Color Tattoo eyeshadows that I own.  Starting at the top and continuing clockwise... Rich Mahogany, Pomegranate Punk, Bold Gold, Gold Shimmer, and Bad to the Bronze.

Out of the colors I already own, Bad to the Bronze is obviously my most-loved Color Tattoo shadow.  I use it almost daily.  I have already purchased a back up.

I've been trying to use Pomegranate Punk more.  It makes a great base for my brown eyeshadows.  I rarely use Bold Gold.

Pomegranate Punk, Rich Mahogany, Bad to the Bronze, Gold Shimmer, and Bold Gold
A few things to note...
  • Pomegranate Punk has more of a silver glitter, and Rich Mahogany has a reddish glitter.  I think all of the colors have some glittery shimmer to them, but I find it to be most noticeable in Pomegranate Punk and Rich Mahogany.
  • Rich Mahogany is a darker brown version of Bad to the Bronze, but it also has more obvious shimmer than Bad to the Bronze.
  • Gold Shimmer has more bronze, while Bold Gold is a true gold.
Eventually I will do a post with swatches of my full Color Tattoo collection.  I tend to shy away from the bright, vibrant colors, so my collection is full of the more neutral colors.
Bottom Line:  The Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows are definitely one of my must-have products.  I use them daily, and I think these new colors are worth checking out!

Boots No. 7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion

Thanks to Emily from Beauty Broadcast, I recently discovered this amazing dupe for Benefit High Beam!

This is the Boots No. 7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion.  It can be found at Target for $12.99 for 30 ml/1 fl. oz.  Although I don't have Benefit High Beam to do a full comparison (it is $26 for .45oz!), High Lights is supposed to be a great dupe.
High Lights has a pump, which makes it very easy to apply.  However, it's easy to pump out too much product if you plan to apply it as a highlight instead of applying it all over your face or mixing it with foundation.
I think this was designed to be more of a full face illuminator, than a highlight.  It comes with a lot of product.  I think it would last nearly forever if you only use a little bit every day.

It has a pink tint, like Benefit's High Beam.  I like that it can be mixed with your foundation to brighten your entire face.  There are some days when I feel like my skin looks dull, but this illuminating lotion brightens my face right up.

I also like to put this on before I put on a powder highlight.  I think it helps my powder highlight to stay in place all day.
As you begin to sheer it out, it has a gorgeous pearly sheen to it.
When it is fully sheered out, it give your skin a nice, healthy glow.

Since I love to compare products, here it is next to two other highlighters that I recently blogged about.

From left to right, I have swatched the Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tiki, The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, and Boots No 7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion.  As you can see, High Lights is more of a pinky highlight, while the others are more bronze and honey colored.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Mauve Cool and Pink Rose

I picked up the Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Mauve Cool and Pink Rose as part of Target's Summer Beauty Clearance.  They were marked $3.84, but they were actually $2.74 (50% off).
My only complaint (a common complaint with cheaper drugstore make-up) is that the packaging seems somewhat flimsy.  The clear lid reminds me of the Wet n Wild blushes.  I'm always afraid it might crack or fall off.

One thing I do like about the packaging is that it is compact, even though it includes a brush.

Pink Rose
The blushes are smooth and not powdery.  I haven't experienced any fallout when I use them.  They are very pigmented, so it doesn't take much effort to build up the color.
Mauve Cool, Pink Rose
For the price, these blushes are surprising great.  I've really be enjoying Mauve Cool.  It's a beautiful color.  I don't think I have anything quite like it in my collection.  I also like Pink Rose for a nice flush of color, but I tend to reach for Mauve Cool more frequently.

Here are a few swatches.  The first two pictures are heavy swatches.  I blended out the color a little bit more in the last picture.
